Greenwood Agrees to an Extension of His Contract with Manchester City Women



Alex Greenwood, a defender for Manchester City Women, has extended her contract with the club by three years, keeping her with the team through at least 2026.

The defender, who joined City from Lyon in 2020, has played more than 80 times for the team and has scored five goals while doing so. Since her arrival, she has been a reliable presence at the rear of the City defence.

The former Everton, Liverpool, United, and Notts County star's spectacular year comes to a conclusion with the signing of the new deal. She also played a significant role in the Lionesses' rousing triumph at the European Championship in the summer.
Greenwood acknowledged her happiness at signing her new agreement after the news. After a good first half of the season, I can now just concentrate on the balance of the campaign and the following three years, so I'm extremely happy to have my new agreement sorted out, and it's come at the ideal moment.

The defender then discussed her feeling at Alex Greenwood home with the blues. "Feeling settled at a club is very important to me, and I definitely have that here at City. That's why I signed such a long-term contract because I truly love it here," he england fooball said. Since we've worked together for the all of my time here, I have a really excellent working relationship with Gareth [Taylor], and the way he wants us to play female football marries up.
I think it has been obvious over the past two and a half years that I hold myself to such high standards personally and that I will give 100% in every game I play for this football team. We have a great collection of players this year; their chemistry is perfect, and we are now functioning as a unit really well. It's great to be at City right now and in the future. We simply want to keep winning football games and trophies, which is what we demand of ourselves here.
